Bijzondere combinatie op z’n minst, al moet gezegd dat The Flamimg Lips, een psychdelische spacerockband, wel de laatste is om in een hokje te plaatsen. Zo worden nummers gecoverd van Pink Floyd tot Louis Armstrong en van Led Zeppelin tot Kylie Minogue

(o) Beatles, The – Lucy in the sky with diamonds (1967). Geschreven door Lennon ik de geestverruimende periode van The Fab Four. Toch werden verwijzingen wat betreft de titel naar LSD, resoluut van de hand gewezen. ook door McCartney. Lennon zou zijn geïnspireerd door de “Alice in Wonderland”-boeken van Lewis Carroll. Zeer veel gecoverd door onder meer Nathalie Cole, The Black Crowes, Frank Zappa en Katie Melua. Ook de versie van Marilyn Manson & The Spooky Kids (als ‘Luci in the Sky with Demons’ (1992) is bijzonder.
